Child
As the natural or adopted child of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen you are able to apply for a Child visa. A child who is married or engaged to be married is not eligible for this visa, and any children over the age of 25 are not eligible for this visa.
Applicants between the ages of 18 and 25 years of age will need to demonstrate that they are full time students and financially dependent on their sponsor.
A Dependent Child visa is available for children of temporary partner visa holders.
Children who are orphaned or in the process of being adopted by an Australian permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen are also able to apply for permanent residency visas under the Orphan Relative and Adoption visa categories.
Aged Dependent Relative
If you are a single person who is considered to be aged, and you are wholly or substantially dependent on a family member who is resident in Australia and is a permanent resident, citizen or eligible New Zealand citizen you may be eligible for this visa.
You will need to demonstrate that you are dependent on your Australian relative for your basic needs of food, shelter and clothing or because you have a disability which prevents you from working.
Remaining Relative
If you are the sister, brother or child of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen, and you and your spouse do not have any brothers, sisters or parents (including step and half relatives) other than those usually residing in Australia then you may be eligible for this visa.
